Principles and Procedures for the 5/i Common Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Course Exemption Examination
⚠️ Important Information
Students who are newly enrolled in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and meet the eligibility requirements for the 5/i Common Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Course Exemption Examination do not need to submit an application or complete any form.
Examination eligibility will be assigned automatically to students who meet the requirements. These students may take the examination at 10.00 on Friday, 18 September 2026, in Şehit Burak Cantürk Lecture Hall (Lecture Hall 4), Lecture Hall 2, Classroom 2 and Classroom 3 at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences by presenting a valid identification document.

Date, Time and Venue of the Examination
1.1.
The 5/i Common Compulsory Foreign Language (English) Course Exemption Examination will be held in person at 10.00 on Friday, 18 September 2026.
1.2.
The examination will be administered simultaneously in Şehit Burak Cantürk Lecture Hall (Lecture Hall 4), Lecture Hall 2, Classroom 2 and Classroom 3 at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

Students Eligible to Take the Examination
2.1.
Students who are newly enrolled in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and will take Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II for the first time may take the examination.
2.2.
Students may exercise their exemption examination right only once during their period of study.

Examination Rules and Procedures
3.1.
The examination consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, and the examination duration is 60 minutes.
3.2.
Participants must have an official and valid identification document, such as a Turkish Identity Card, national identity card, driving licence or passport, with them during the examination.
3.3.
Every candidate taking the examination shall be deemed to have accepted the announced examination rules and procedures in advance.

Assessment and Exemption Requirements
4.1.
Pursuant to Article 17(1) of the Balıkesir University Regulation on Associate and Undergraduate Education, students must receive at least 60 points, equivalent to a CC letter grade or above, to be exempt from the Foreign Language courses coded YDI 1101 and YDI 1201.
4.2.
Students who receive a score of 60 or above will be considered successful and exempt from the relevant courses.

Announcement of the Results
5.1.
The exemption examination results will be officially communicated to the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
5.2.
Students may learn their examination results from the Student Affairs Office of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences.
