BAÜN Rector Oğurlu Emphasizes “Cooperation in the Turkic World” at International Symposium

Balıkesir University (BAÜN) Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu attended the 5th International Symposium on Insurance, Banking and Finance online and delivered the opening address. The symposium was organized in Uzbekistan in cooperation with Balıkesir University, Almalyk State Technical Institute (ASTI), Tashkent State University of Economics and the Assurance Services Association.

The symposium, organized by Balıkesir University between 6 and 9 October 2026 and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Suat Kara, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, brought together Prof. Dr. Utkır Halikulov, Rector of Almalyk State Technical Institute; Prof. Dr. Alisher Usmankulov, Rector of Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute; Prof. Dr. Gulnora Abdurrahmonova, Vice-Rector of Tashkent State University of Economics; and Prof. Dr. Zokirjon Zikriyayev, Vice-Rector of Almalyk State Technical Institute. Academics, researchers, graduate students and representatives of public institutions, regulatory authorities and the private sector also participated in the symposium.

In his opening address, Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu emphasized the importance of regional cooperation and sustainable development in the Turkic world. He also highlighted the necessity of transparent reporting, independent auditing and a predictable legal framework for establishing reliable financial systems.

Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu expressed his hope that the symposium would create new opportunities for developing joint research projects, increasing scientific publications and strengthening student and academic mobility.

Organized in cooperation with Balıkesir University, Almalyk State Technical Institute, Tashkent State University of Economics and the Assurance Services Association, the symposium addressed current academic and sectoral issues, particularly financial transformation, risk management and green finance.
