Technical Visit Held at the Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of the Social Security Institution
In line with the expectations expressed by our students from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the beginning of the fall semester, an important event was organized in response to their request for institutional visits within the scope of the department and curriculum.
Within the scope of the Labor Law and Social Security course conducted by Prof. Dr. Tahsin Güler, a faculty member of our Department of Political Science and Public Administration, a technical visit was held at the Balıkesir Provincial Directorate of the Social Security Institution on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
During the program, our students met with institution managers and expert staff under the chairmanship of Şeref Karaca, Provincial Director of the Balıkesir Social Security Institution. Following this meeting, comprehensive information was shared through presentations delivered by experts on the social security system, insurance processes, retirement, combating unregistered employment, and public sector career paths.
In the continuation of the program, the units of the institution were visited on site, and practical information was provided to our students regarding the work and procedures carried out within the institution.
Within the scope of the event, students were also provided with up-to-date and practical information on the following topics:
- The structure of the institution and its role in public administration,
- The importance and processes of social insurance,
- Combating unregistered employment,
- Career opportunities through internships, KPSS, and İŞKUR,
- Recommendations on working life and career planning.
