On behalf of Balıkesir University Faculty of Economics, I warmly greet you and welcome you to our academic community. By choosing our Faculty as a result of your success in the university entrance examination, you have become a valued member of our academic family. You are about to begin an important four-year educational journey that will contribute significantly to both your professional competencies and personal development.
Our Faculty consists of five departments: Economics, Business Administration, Public Finance, International Trade and Logistics, and Political Science and Public Administration. The Department of Economics provides a comprehensive understanding of economic dynamics through its divisions of Economic Development and International Economics, Economic Policy, Economic History, and Economic Theory. The Department of Business Administration offers a broad education through its divisions of Accounting and Finance, Quantitative Methods, Production Management and Marketing, and Management and Organization. The Department of Public Finance provides specialization opportunities through its divisions of Fiscal Law, Fiscal Economics, Public Finance Theory, and Budget and Fiscal Planning. The Department of International Trade and Logistics equips students with competencies in global trade and supply chain management through its divisions of Foreign Trade, Logistics, and International Finance. The Department of Political Science and Public Administration offers academic knowledge in governance and political systems through its divisions of Political and Social Sciences, Administrative Sciences, Urbanization and Environmental Issues, and Legal Sciences.
Our educational philosophy is based on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. Our curricula are designed in accordance with national and international standards and are continuously updated in line with economic and social developments. In addition to compulsory courses, elective courses enable you to specialize according to your interests. Internship programs and field applications provide opportunities to transform theoretical knowledge into practical experience. Our academic staff consists of experienced scholars conducting research at national and international levels.
Our Faculty adopts a student-centered educational approach. Through the academic advising system, guidance is provided on course selection, internship processes, and career planning. Exchange programs such as Erasmus+ and Mevlana offer opportunities to study abroad. Seminars, conferences, and career events enable our students to engage with academics and industry professionals. Our graduates pursue successful careers in banking, finance, auditing, public institutions, foreign trade, logistics, and consultancy.
Our aim is not only to provide professional knowledge but also to educate individuals who think analytically, adhere to ethical values, and possess a strong sense of social responsibility. We encourage you to participate in social and cultural activities, take active roles in student organizations, and graduate as well-rounded individuals.
